Foundation Café is located on the ground floor of Tūranga, Christchurch's central library. As the largest public library in the South Island, Tūranga is a vibrant and popular destination for both locals and visitors, right in the heart of the city.

Established to provide a welcoming common ground for everyone, Foundation Café is a place where people can come together to enjoy great food and coffee in a warm, relaxed and inclusive space.

We offer a seasonal Menu, Catering and High Tea, with something for every occasion. We pride ourselves on making nearly all of our food from scratch, using quality ingredients to bring freshness, variety and plenty of flavour to our menu.

From our famous, freshly baked cheese scones to cabinet favourites and full seasonal meals, there's something for everyone — whether you're popping in for a quick coffee, catching up with friends or sitting down for a leisurely meal.
